Innovation Lens™ | What colour is your idea?

Once we can talk about an idea with confidence, we can start looking at it differently.
And that can be harder than it sounds.
When an idea is yours, you have probably spent more time thinking about it than anyone else.
So sometimes the most useful thing we can do is pause for pace.
Step back, capture where the thinking is today and look at it from a different perspective.
That is the thinking behind Innovation Lens™.
Instead of asking whether an idea is good or bad, the Lens asks you to look across all 27 Innovation³ insights and make a simple judgement:
How confident am I that I have this covered?
Then give it a colour.
GREEN. Build on it.
AMBER. Explore it.
RED. Focus on it.
Nothing more complicated than that.
Because colour makes something intangible visible.
And importantly, red does not mean stop.
It means look here.
Amber means there is more to understand.
Green means there is something solid enough to build upon.
The aim is not to turn everything green.
It is to capture the pattern.
Perhaps the idea is strong through Inspire but becomes less certain through Invent.
Perhaps the product itself feels well developed but the commercial thinking across Innovate is still mostly amber.
Perhaps one red square exposes the conversation you need to have next.
The Lens is a snapshot, not a score. It shows where your thinking is strong, where it needs attention and what conversation might come next.
The Innovation Lens™ gives you a simple framework to pause, capture your thinking and see where your attention might be better spent next.
