Rules of engagement... Share with confidence
I feel like we’re getting somewhere and you’re ready to share your idea with me. Well… please don’t!
Not because I’m not interested, far from it. I wouldn’t be much of a guide if I didn’t listen.
But before we talk details, a quick word of caution: we haven’t signed an NDA yet, a non-disclosure agreement. It’s there to protect us both, so let’s not be hasty. You’d be making your idea public with nothing in place to secure it.
Naturally, you don’t need an NDA to read the rest of this book, but when you start sharing your idea, it’s a must.
And while we’re on the subject, don’t rush to register a patent or design either. There’s plenty to do before starting that particular clock ticking.

So, there it is... your first nugget of advice, we’re up and running.
An NDA doesn’t have to be complicated. It just needs to be clear that both parties are sharing in confidence.
Download my simple NDA template, personalise it, and protect your idea in the early days of sharing.
If you’re keen to protect something early, focus on your brand. Register your name or logo as a trademark. After all, that flash of inspiration that gives life to your brand or product name is invaluable. It feeds your website, your social media, and sets you apart.
But let’s not be hasty, patience is a virtue they say. We will delve into ways to protect your idea on the assent of Peak #2 Invent.
